You can only retain freedoms if you act to preserve them. - Karl Tricamo
Stay-at-home dad Karl Tricamo was another unsuspecting gardener just going about his favorite hobby and following the rules. He loves to garden with his 55 heirlooms and dislikes GMOs and pesticides.
But, like so many others now, he was pushed around and literally stalked by “Code Enforcers” out to aggressively eradicate any “nuisance” that doesn’t match the rest of their desired Stepford neighborhood. This is after he, also like many targeted for garden deconstruction, painstakingly followed the rules.
“I just thought it would be an excellent way to help provide for my family,” he said. “People have been gardening since the beginning of human civilization, and the First Lady has even been setting an example by gardening at the White House! I never expected it to be so controversial.”
City officials in Ferguson, Missouri do not care if someone is trying to feed his family on his turf; so they literally cited Tricamo’s landlord with ’Failure to meet the minimum standards of the City of Ferguson exterior appearance code.’
Now, doesn’t that sound like a highly subjective code? It would, had it been an actual code instead of an intimidation tactic.
Karl’s neighbors seemed to be in accordance with his fruitful yard plan. One of them even allowed Tricamo to plant tomatoes in her garden as a “show of solidarity.”

Recent research and data are challenging long held beliefs about the benefits of pasteurization, and a vigorous debate is currently underway in the medical profession over the safety and benefits of raw, organic dairy products.
Whatever side of this argument any individual comes down on in the scientific debate, the policy and law that comes out of that debate has to be seen in the larger societal and historical context. If farmers have enjoyed the freedom to grow and process their foods as they see fit for centuries, and customers likewise have enjoyed the freedom to purchase those foods from those producers they personally trust, how and why did the FDA gain the authority to interfere in that process? By what jurisdiction does a federal regulator have the authority to legislate what foods people are allowed to put into their own bodies?

Earlier this month it was reported that the federal government plans on shutting down the largest medical marijuana dispensary operator in California known as Harborside Health Center. Two dispensaries, one in Oakland and another in San Jose, are in the process of being seized by authorities, where both locations were gifted with copies of the federal Complaint for Forfeiture taped on their front doors. The papers, taped on the doors on Tuesday July 10, stated that the dispensaries were “operating in violation of federal law.”
Largest Operated California Medical Marijuana Dispensary Targeted
Needless to say, those who support medical marijuana and even some state officials frowned upon the federal government’s less than expected action. While some individuals like the U.S. attorney for Northern California, Melinda Haag, say that the action was warranted because the California medical marijuana dispensaries presented opportunities for abuse, others are rather upset. He explains:
“People are not going to stop using cannabis, they’re just going to buy it in the illegal marketplace … on the streets. Why are federal prosecutors using their discretion to do something so profoundly destructive” said Steve DeAngelo, co-founder of Haborside and leader in the movement for medical marijuana use.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder told the House Judiciary Committee in June that the federal agents were only after large-scale growers and medical marijuana dispensaries that have “come up with ways in which they are taking advantage of these state laws, and going beyond that which the states have authorized.”

[NaturalNews] California “raw milk man” James Stewart, who has been persecuted by California officials for his “crime” of distributing unpasteurized milk, is currently held in Ventura county jails. Yesterday, he met with his new legal team, led by Matt Bromund of the Bromund Law Group in Ventura (www.BromundLaw.com). Bromund, who has also represented Sharon Palmer of Healthy Family Farms, is very familiar with the tactics now being attempted by the Ventura County D.A. to try to paint farmers as criminals.
As NaturalNews previously reported, both Ventura County and L.A. County are waging a vicious persecution campaign against Stewart (http://www.naturalnews.com/035197_James_Stewart_Sharon_Palmer_Ventura…), and we have learned this is because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has ordered state authorities to prosecute James in order to “set an example” so that no one else across the country even considers selling raw milk. The FDA even provided around $80,000 in grant money, plus a network of spies and infiltration operatives (http://www.naturalnews.com/033428_FDA_secret_war.html) to aid in the persecution campaign.
California attorney Ajna Sharma-Wilson is also on Stewart’s legal team, working as an adjunct attorney to help in the case. She describes James Stewart as “…being treated like a political prisoner.”
She told NaturalNews yesterday: “Every move he’s making is being scrutinized. I’ve visited jails hundreds of times, I’ve never been treated like that. There’s something going on. They want to take down james and they’re doing everything possible from every angle. The entire Ventura county case is about Character assassination to make James look like a criminal.”
Motion to dismiss to be reviewed as early as Monday
Matt Bromund told NaturalNews he intends to file a motion to dismiss all charges against Stewart, and that such a motion could be reviewed by a judge as early as Monday (but could also take much longer, depending on the circumstances).
Bromund is very optimistic about the outcome. “I think the motion to dismiss the case should be very easy for the judge to grant. [Stewart] should get prompt resolution at law on this case, and in the mean time he’s going to get all kinds of extraordinary scrutiny because there is an agenda that has been set by various agencies of California.”
That agenda, as NaturalNews readers well know, is to destroy raw milk and persecute anyone who touches it. This is the new model of police state crony capitalism in America: Big industry runs the regulators, and the regulators are criminal gangs that misuse their power to destroy any competition of their corporate masters. The agenda to “get James Stewart,” after all, is really a protection racket to make sure the pasteurized milk industry — offering dead, pasteurized, artificially homogenized milk with high levels of pus and blood — has no competition from fresh, local food producers which run far cleaner operations (http://www.naturalnews.com/035039_raw_milk_pasteurized_CDC.html).

[NaturalNews] Following the mysterious arrest / seizure of James Stewart, the 65-year-old “raw milk man” in California, questions immediately surfaced about why the bounty hunters were sent after him, who set up the bounty hunters to find him, and why was James mentioning Mark McAfee in the video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYTP9C7jtrI
See last night’s article on the bounty hunter assault on James here: (yes, they sprayed him with pepper spray, which is why his face appears bright red in the video)
See a breaking news update interview with myself (Mike Adams) and Robert Scott Bell:
What led up to all this? James Stewart refused to appear in a Ventura County court case, which we know to be completely fabricated in the first place (it’s based on allegations of financial fraud that simply cannot be linked to James in any credible way whatsoever). James, who had been tortured in the L.A. County jail for 8 days (http://www.naturalnews.com/035208_James_Stewart_torture_county_jail.h…), feared for his life and left the courtroom in Ventura rather than appear there and be thrown in jail. He told me he was determined to fight the case outside the system, where he could stay alive and not be beaten, starved or otherwise abused by the jail system there.
Public vigil red alert: Raw milk advocate James Stewart seized by armed bounty hunters driving unmarked vehicles with no plates
by: Mike Adams
July 27, 2012
[NaturalNews] James Stewart, the 65-year-old raw “milk man” and founder of Rawesome Foods, was assaulted near his home today by three armed men driving unmarked luxury vehicles with no license plates. Carrying firearms on their hips and dressed in gangster-style street clothes, Satanic T-shirt imagery and tattoos, they claimed to be making an “arrest” and verbally assaulted James, sprayed pepper spray in his face, then forced his head against a car and screamed, according to witnesses, “You better listen to me or you’re gonna have a bad f*ckin’ day!”
James Stewart’s cell phone was on the entire time, and a phone witness told NaturalNews the arrest was conducted “Nazi style.” Meanwhile, James was screaming to anyone who would listen, “HELP ME! HELP ME! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?”
A partial video of the incident was captured by a witness. The redness in the face of James Stewart is due to the pepper spray assault. That video link is here:
James was wanted on $130,000 in bail by Ventura County, which had originally put him on $1 million bail — an amount usually reserved for murderers, rapists or serial killers. James, accused of selling “unpasteurized milk” through Rawesome Foods, was made the target of an FDA-funded and politically motivated attempt to destroy the raw milk industry in California. He has been charged with financial crimes by Ventura County even though there is literally no legitimate evidence whatsoever linking James to any such crimes, and the entire case is already in the process of being unraveled.
In the Ventura case, there is no crime, no evidence, and not even any justifiable reason to arrest James and put him on bail in the first place! The entire thing was utterly fabricated as a publicity stunt to attempt to intimidate would-be raw milk producers.
Bounty hunters drive cars with no plates, carry weapons, intimidate witnesses
In the arrest video, James clearly says, “Sir I was trying to give you the information that I thought Mr. McAfee was giving to me.” James is referring to Mark McAfee of Organic Pastures, California’s largest organic milk producer. NaturalNews has confirmed that Mark McAfee, among several other people, had helped fund James Stewart’s bail bond. According to James Stewart, who phoned from Ventura county jail, Mark McAfee was present at the “arrest” and watched the bounty hunters take James away.
During the so-called “arrest,” one of the bounty hunters attempts to verbally intimidate the person filming the video, threatening them by saying, “You’re interfering with an arrest, you’re blocking traffic.” In reality, the bounty hunter never identified himself, never read James any rights and was not involved in any legal arrest whatsoever. The whole thing was a charade carried out by what might appear to a rational person to be armed thugs driving stolen vehicles while impersonating undercover police officers.
In the video, what appears to be a firearm can be seen on the hip of one of the men wearing a pink shirt. At no point during the assault did these men show any badges or identification of any kind. According to California law, “All bounty hunters must carry with them a certification of completion of required courses and training programs.”
According to witnesses, these armed men did not produce any certificates at all. Instead, they verbally intimidated the people filming the incident. One of the bounty hunters called the camera person a “retard” for daring to film him.
We can hear on the video another bounty hunter saying, “You’re in a lot of trouble, you better get an attorney!” During all this, they are rifling through James’ pockets and apparently stealing all his personal belongings. “You are in a lot more trouble than anybody up here,” one of them says to James. “You are in a lot of trouble.”
Over raw milk? Really? Is this what California has come to now? If you sell unpasteurized milk, you get accosted by three armed men driving unlicensed (stolen?) vehicles, working for the state?

According to the Council for Responsible Nutrition, 69 percent of American adults take supplements. But are supplements dangerous? The UK-based, international campaign group, the Alliance for Natural Health International (ANH-Intl) recently revealed data1showing that compared to supplements, an individual is:
- Around 900 times more likely to die from food poisoning
- Nearly 300,000 times more likely to die from a preventable medical injury during a UK hospital stay, which is comparable to the individual risk of dying that active military face in Iraq or Afghanistan
Additionally, the data shows that adverse reactions to pharmaceutical drugs are:
- 62,000 times more likely to kill you than food supplements
- 7,750 times more likely to kill you than herbal remedies
The data, which was collected from official sources in the UK and EU, demonstrate that both food supplements and herbal remedies are in the ‘super-safe’ category of individual risk – meaning risk of death from their consumption is less than 1 in 10 million. The group has created an excellent graphic2 showing your relative risk of death from a variety of activities. Besides drugs and hospital injuries, you’re also more likely to die from being struck by lightning or drowning in your bathtub than having a lethal reaction to herbs or supplements…
According to the featured article on NewHope360.com3:
“ANH-Intl executive and scientific director, Robert Verkerk PhD, hailed the figures as shedding new light on the vexed question of natural healthcare’s safety. “These figures tell us not only what activities an individual is most or least likely to die from, but also what the relative risks of various activities are to society as a whole. It puts some real perspective on the actual risk of death posed by food supplements and herbal remedies at a time when governments are clamping down because they tell us they’re dangerous.
… According to Dr Verkerk, the new figures should help to pressure UK and European authorities to reduce regulatory burdens on natural health products.”
With a Super-Safe Track Record, Why are Supplements Under Attack?
Vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements have a tremendously safe track record, yet they are often singled out as being potentially dangerous by government agencies like the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This – the notion that dietary supplements are unsafe — was the premise behind the FDA’s Draft Guidance on New Dietary Ingredients (NDI), which would have required the supplement industry to prove the safety of natural ingredients that, in many cases, have been on the market and used safely for decades!
Fortunately, public outcry made the agency agree to take another look at their proposed guidance and to issue a revised draft4. It’s still not known when the revisions might be completed.
The original NDI draft essentially claimed dietary supplements are unsafe and must be carefully tested in order to “protect consumers.” The proposed safety thresholds even exceeded those required by pharmaceutical drugs — despite extensive toxicological data showing supplements are FAR safer than drugs. As detailed above, drugs are 62,000 times more likely to kill you than supplements! Why on earth would supplements need more stringent safety thresholds than drugs?
It’s an obvious attempt to eliminate competition for the drug industry.
Data from the United States fully corroborates the featured UK data. For example, according to the latest data from the US National Poison Data System (2010 report)5, NO deaths were attributable to vitamin and mineral supplements that year. And, as noted byOrthomolecular Medicine News Service last year6, Americans easily take more than 60 billion doses of nutritional supplements every year, and with zero related deaths this is an outstanding safety record:
“Well over half of the U.S. population takes daily nutritional supplements. Even if each of those people took only one single tablet daily, that makes 165,000,000 individual doses per day, for a total of over 60 billion doses annually. Since many persons take far more than just one single vitamin or mineral tablet, actual consumption is considerably higher, and the safety of nutritional supplements is all the more remarkable.Over 60 billion doses of vitamin and mineral supplemnts per year in the USA, and not a single fatality. Not one. If vitamin and mineral supplements are allegedly so ‘dangerous,’ as the FDA and news media so often claim, then where are the bodies?”
The Drug Industry is the Real Health Threat
In striking contrast, drugs are known to cause well over 125,000 deaths per year in the US when taken correctly as prescribed – yet the FDA allows fast-track approvals and countless new additions of poorly tested drugs to the marketplace that must later be withdrawn due to their lethal consequences.
It is simply incomprehensible that any rational approach would seek to vilify supplements over drugs when the data in no way, shape or form supports it. The most likely motive for this position is financial greed that can put your life in jeopardy. According to the US National Poison Data System7 the following drug categories are among the most lethal:
- Analgesics, sedatives, hypnotics, and antipsychotics
- Cardiovascular drugs
- Acetaminophen combinations
Slightly lower down on the list you find drugs like muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatory drugs, hormones, antacids, anticoagulants, and antihistamines.

Glancing through the channels of news media and pharmaceutical ads, the overriding impression we have about health is that cancer, dementia, stroke, heart disease, and diabetes are things that simply happen to us. We are simply genetically pre-programmed to get sick at some point past age 40, but this just isn’t true. While genes may play a role in our health quality, many experts agree that chronic inflammation causes virtually all leading diseases due to a poor diet and lack of exercise.
Inflammation in the Body
When we experience an injury, our bodies’ natural response is inflammation. Wendy Weber, a program director at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, explains: “You need to have inflammation when you have a wound and the immune system goes in to heal it. Yet we don’t want too much inflammation in our system causing damage to our arteries” and the body.
Cat scratches swell on our arms because our bodies are fighting bacteria. Our glands swell when we’re experiencing allergies or a sniffle because it’s fighting irritants or infection. The problem is when the irritants and infection don’t go away—smoking, excess fat in the diet, lack of detoxification of the body through sweat and exercise.
Reducing Inflammation and Risk of Disease
“We’ve learned that abdominal fat tissue is a hotbed of inflammation that pours out all kinds of inflammatory molecules,” says Dr. Peter Libby of Harvard Medical School. Losing excess weight lowers levels of C-reactive protein, an indicator of inflammation. This can be achieved in a matter of weeks.
Another Harvard medical professor, Christopher Cannon, advocates an anti-inflammatory diet—high in whole grains, unsaturated fats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, fish, poultry, eggs, and some dairy.
As The Daily Show faithfuls will remember, Dr. David B. Agus touted other ways to reduce inflammation earlier this year with his book, The End of Illness. They include:
- Avoiding vitamins and supplements and obtaining nutrients from whole foods wherever possible.
- Exercising regularly and moving during the day.
- Attaining a lean body mass.
- Minimizing use of tobacco products.
- Avoiding sources of inflammation (including foods like butter, sugar, red meats, and white foods like pasta and rice).
We’ve already celebrated how turmeric is fantastic at preventing chronic disease and reducing inflammation. In numerous studies, researchers have attributed turmeric with preventing Alzheimer’s, slowing the spread of breast cancer into lungs, and reducing pain and stiffness in osteoarthritis patients. Turmeric even exhibits cancer-blocking properties according to a UCLA study – allowing many individuals to realize that beating cancer with nutrition is indeed possible.
To harness the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric, try:
- Brewing turmeric tea.
- Sprinkling turmeric over deviled eggs, egg salad, or over grilled meat.
- Add turmeric to almost any lentil or cauliflower recipe.
- Mix turmeric into party dips and serve with raw vegetables.
- Try this healthy smoothie: blend or juice half an apple, a teaspoon of local honey, and ¼ teaspoon of turmeric with milk or an unsweetened alternative.
- Or, purchase a high quality organic turmeric supplement.
Nutritional spies unleashed by the American Dietetic Association in fight to criminalize nutrition education
Friday, July 20, 2012
By: Ethan A. Huff
[NaturalNews] The American Dietetic Association (ADA), which recently renamed itself the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), is struggling to maintain relevancy as Americans increasingly choose to get their nutrition information from alternative health sources. But the AND is not going down without a fight, as the group has now stooped so low as to lure its members to snitch on unlicensed nutritionists in exchange for prizes.
Several whistleblowers within the ranks of the AND recently released shocking internal documents that highlight the group’s seditious tactics for basically driving its competition out of business, as well as establishing a nationwide monopoly on nutrition. One of these tactics involves having registered dietitians (RDs) and dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs) spy on their competition in order to file complaints against them via state dietetic boards. (http://www.forbes.com)
At the state level, some dietetic associations, which operate under the banner of the AND, are even organizing contests that offer prizes and other incentives to RDs and DTRs that rat out unlicensed nutritionists. In Michigan; for instance, a brochure for the official Michigan Dietetic Association (MDA) conference in 2006 explains that attendees who bring in the most completed “Documentation of Harm” forms will be eligible to win free registration.
