[NaturalNews] Move over Frankenfish, corn, soy, cotton and beets. Now we have new genetically modified Frankenapples with unnatural proteins designed to keep apples from browning when sliced or bruised. British Columbia-based Okanagan Specialty Fruits has submitted an application to the USDA for approval of new browning-resistant GMO apples.
The GMO apples, which are likely to first appear in the Golden Delicious and Granny Smith varieties, contain a synthetic gene that sharply reduces production of polyphenol oxidase, an enzyme responsible for normal apple browning. Okanagan believes their new browning-resistant “Acrtic Apple” could improve apple industry sales the way “baby carrots” did for carrot sales.
Fooling the public
Presumably, improving apple industry sales means fooling the public with the new apples similar to what happened when “baby carrots” were rolled out. “Baby carrots” are not young, tender carrots but instead are specially shaped slices of peeled carrots which were invented as a way to use carrots which were too twisted or knobby for sale as full-size carrots.
The new GMO apples will enable apples to be sold as an industrialized product. Instead of being sold as fresh, whole fruit, less than fresh browning-resistant apples can be sold as slices in plastic bags. As Canadian Biotechnology Action coordinator Lucy Sharrat asked “Is it a rotten apple that looks fresh?”
Sharrat noted that a consumer poll commissioned by BC and Quebec apple growers associations found that 69 percent of Canadians did not want the GE apples. U.S. polls have similarly found the large majority of consumers opposed to GMOs, but public sentiment thus far has done little to stop the proliferation of GMO products endangering us, our food chain and our environment.
More worrisome than the issue of freshness is: while only one changed gene is being used to keep the apples from browning, it is likely that other apple genes have also been changed in the process of creating the new GMO apples, the same as has happened with other GMO crops.
Kirk Azevedo, a former Monsanto employee who worked on genetically engineered cotton, was told by one of Monsanto’s PhD researchers that other proteins besides the one Monsanto wanted were produced as byproducts of the genetic engineering process. Azevedo, who had also been studying protein diseases reported that such proteins could be toxic, and he tried without success to warn Monsanto that seeds from the GE cotton should be destroyed and not fed to cattle.
Azevedo said, “I saw what was really the fraud associated with genetic engineering. My impression, and I think most people’s impression with genetically engineered foods and crops and other things, is that it’s just like putting one gene in there and that one gene is expressed….But in reality, the process of genetic engineering changes the cell in such a way that it’s unknown what the effects are going to be.”
There has been no testing done to assure the apples’ safety in the long-term. Already, scientists have reported birth defects, abnormal growth, high infant mortality rates, and sterility in hamsters, rats, and livestock fed genetically engineered soy and corn.
Some growers, especially organic ones, are worried that genes from the new apples will spread to their crops. Though apple pollen does not usually drift very far in the air, it can be carried by bees. Once introduced, there would be no way to control cross-pollination.

[NaturalNews] In yet another example of mad science gone awry, approximately 7 to 17 percent of the chicken population of Australia’s two main chicken producing states, Victoria and New South Wales, has died as a result of two deadly new disease strains; strains created when three vaccines used to prevent the herpes virus infectious laryngotracheitis in chickens ‘unexpectedly’ swapped genes. The disease normally kills five percent of the chicken populations it infects, so in this case the ‘solution’ has turned out to be far worse than the original potential problem.
In Australia there are usually two similar live virus vaccinations against the virus, which causes mild to severe respiratory disease (difficulty breathing, sneezing, coughing) in chickens. However, because of shortages in 2008/2009, a new European vaccine was introduced. Because of the use of multiple live virus vaccines in the same poultry population, an entirely new, more virulent, disease has been created, one that results in death for a significant percentage of the population it was meant to protect. According to the journal Science, “These findings highlight the risks of using multiple different attenuated herpes virus vaccines, or vectors, in the same populations.”
Joanne Devlin, a lecturer at the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne and the lead author of the paper detailing the problem, wrote, “To try to understand the origin of the new field strains, what we did is sequence the entire genome of the new field strains and we also sequenced the genome of the vaccine strains at the time.” Similar elements to the two vaccines were found in the new viruses.
Move on, nothing to see here
Devlin also acknowledges that the new, deadly variants were possible because the vaccines contained live viruses. Not to worry; however. The University of Melbourne’s Ian Gust assures us that this couldn’t possibly occur in humans because chickens and people are vaccinated using different methods and different strains of the herpes virus. Since the herpes virus is delivered with three entirely different diseases, measles, mumps, and rubella, we are told it cannot breed across various species. Currently, there are five live virus vaccines given to humans – measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and polio. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s no secret that berries of all kinds have numerous nutritional benefits—mostly due to their antioxidant concentration. The benefits of blueberries, for example, include lowering blood pressure and protection of the heart and liver. But a more obscure berry and fantastic anti-cancer food—black raspberries—may be effective at preventing numerous types of cancer, including colorectal.
Black Raspberries a Fantastic Anti-Cancer Food
According to a study published in the journal Cancer Prevention Research, mice were “engineered” to have intestinal tumors (a troubling thought). These mice were then fed a high fat, low calcium and vitamin D diet, referred to as a “high risk diet” over the following 12 weeks. Some of those mice were given a supplement so that 10 percent of their calories came from black raspberries.
Showing how black raspberries is a great anti-cancer food, the mice who were given the black raspberry addition had fewer tumors than those who were not. The growth of new tumors in these black raspberry mice decreased by 45 percent and the total number of tumors went down 60 percent.
Another group of mice, who was engineered to have intestinal inflammation, saw a similar decrease in new tumors and number of tumors by about 50 percent. The black raspberries actually reduced inflammation.
According to researchers, in order to have the same amount of black raspberries in your diet, you would have to eat four cups of fresh berries each day. While that’s a lot, there’s a good chance that even having a single cup each day could provide some benefit. Like scientists point out, these mice were made to have cancer, the human body is not, so you wouldn’t likely have to gorge yourself on them to have positive cancer-preventing benefits.
In addition to colorectal cancer, berries have also been shown to stop the cellular changes that lead to cancer. They’ve also been shown to stop the growth of esophageal tumors.
Because they can lower inflammation as well, researchers say it’s highly possible that they can protect against inflammatory diseases like cardiovascular disease.
The study, published in August 2008 in “Cancer Research” also found these berries are a great anti-cancer food, as compounds in black raspberries affect hundreds of genes so that cancer can’t as easily spread. Mice exposed to UVB radiation were less likely to develop skin cancer after being lathered in a gel containing black raspberry powder.

The news surrounding GMO crops continues to get further and further outlandish as the crops are increasingly mutated and sprayed with a medley of harsh pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides. The latest news comes from an unlikely source — an automotive publication known as Autoblog. The website reports that farmers who have opted to plant Monsanto’s genetically modified seeds have run into one daunting problem (outside of decreased yields and an extremely higher risk of disease): little ‘spear-like’ stalks from the harvested GMOs are absolutely wreaking havoc on the heavy duty tractor tires.
Described by one farmer as a ‘field of little spears’, farmers are now turning to kevlar tires. In case you’re not aware, kevlar is the same material used in bulletproof vests to protect from gun bullets.
The stalks are so sharp and weapon-like that they can wreck an entire set of wheels, which is a daunting reality when considered that one tractor can have as many as eight heavy duty tires. Furthermore, a single tractor tire can easily cost thousands of dollars. Thanks to the GMO crops, the average lifespan of a tractor tire has dwindled from five or six years down to just one or two — if the farmer is lucky. Add that to the exponentially increased amount of pesticide use required to maintain modified crops thanks to heavily mutated ‘super’ rootworms and other insects, and it’s easy to see how GMO farming is nothing but a monetary pitfall for farmers.
Strange reports like these may ultimately be what it takes for the public to truly be concerned about genetically modified seeds and ingredients. Outside of the massive amount of research highlighting the damaging effects of GMOs on human biology, the environment, and nature as a whole, it oftentimes takes a bizarre incident such as this in order to fully gain the attention of the far-reaching press. The longer the use of GMOs is allowed nationwide, the more bizarre and outlandish stories will begin to emerge.
As if mutant insects, superweeds, decreased biosphere microorganism population, and direct organ stress weren’t enough, now Monsanto’s GMO crops can be easily utilized as a sharp and deadly weapon.

Does the common use of the word “disease” bypass critical reasoning to effectively mislead scientific thought? Modern medicine describes hundreds of individual “diseases.” Each “disease” is generally named for a group of symptoms and the area of the body affected. Many are suffixed by -itis, meaning inflammation of… like tonsill-itis or arthr-itis. And interestingly, recent studies are finding inflammation involved in virtually all of them. Does this terminology serve to pigeonhole distinct “diseases” and distract us from seeing the big picture of inflammation as the disease? Have we been looking at secondary pathologies and opportunistic microbes, and treating them at symptom-level… instead of addressing a common root cause? Is there some imaginary partition that separates human health from chemistry, physics and cell biology?
Whether inflammation is acute like appendicitis or chronic like atherosclerosis and obesity, an immune response is taking place. In-flam-mation literally means “on fire” and is classically marked by the Latin: rubor, tumor, calor and dolor — or redness, swelling, heat and pain — so we know from those words that oxidation is at work.
Oxidation is simply fire or rust or whenever one molecule seizes an electron from another molecule. The needy oxidant grabs or shares the electrons of an electron rich anti-oxidant. When the electrons are stolen from chemical bonds, those molecules (like DNA) come apart or are deformed (like fats) and said to be oxidized, burnt.

In September of 1983 my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was dead in 6 weeks. I remember the anguish and the frustration as the medical doctors offered no hope. I had been in practice for only 3 years and the Internet was nonexistent back then. But I recall going to the library to do research about healing cancer without toxic drugs or radiation. I also called “cancer clinics” all over North America and Mexico, trying to find a solution to my father’s illness.
Thus began my quest to understand how to heal and prevent cancer
One treatment that stood out at the time was Amygdalin, the product that is produced from crushed apricot pits. Amygdalin is not to be confused with Laetrile, also known as B17, which is a semi-synthetic patented version of Amygdalin.
Laetrile and Amygdalin have been used successfully around the world for the reversal of many types of cancer. The Hunza tribes in the Himalayans are virtually cancer free, which some have attributed to their daily consumption of apricot pits and millet, both of which contain amygdalin.
The apricot pits contain a compound called glycosides which are a combination of sugar and cyanide. What takes place here is what we call selective toxicity. A specific enzyme that is produced in large quantities by cancer cells, triggers the sugar break down that releases the cyanide. The cyanide is what kills the cancer cells.
But why are healthy cells not affected by the cyanide? Healthy cells have a specific enzyme calledrhodanese, which renders the cyanide harmless. How’s that for another amazing healing miracle?
Another way that amygdalin affects cancer cells is that it inhibits angiogenesis. Angiogenesis is the formation of new blood flow as the cancer cells are growing and forming a tumor. If the blood flow to the tumor is blocked, the cancer cells die.
Amygdalin also suppresses inflammatory responses which lead to multiple diseases, including cancer.
Amygdalin even inhibits the growth of the Epstein-Barr virus, which often induces tumor growth. The anti-tumor promoting activity of amygdalin and other compounds was studied in both in vitro and in vivo assays.
While administered specifically for cancer treatment, a wonderful side effect is that amygdalin actually helps relieve the pain that is often associated with aggressive cancers.

30 years of secret, official transcripts prove vaccine schedules in US and UK are based on government lies

[NaturalNews] A comprehensive investigation into the inner workings of the U.K.’s nationalized healthcare system has revealed a shocking legacy of corruption and lies concerning the country’s vaccine policy. According to Dr. Lucija Tomlijenovic, Ph.D., from the University of British Columbia in Canada, the advisory and governing bodies that set vaccination policy in the U.K. have, for many decades now, hidden the truth about vaccine dangers, and deliberately pushed unsafe vaccines on the public in order to uphold the official vaccination schedule.
Official documents uncovered from secret meetings of the U.K.’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), an independent body that helps set vaccination schedule policy in the U.K., reveal that JCVI ignores independent data showing vaccines to be unsafe, and reinforces questionable data produced by vaccine companies claiming that vaccines are safe. The group also discourages all research that might question the safety of vaccines, and knowingly lies to parents in order to increase the overall vaccination compliance rate.
“[T]he JCVI made continuous efforts to withhold critical data on severe, adverse reactions and contraindications to vaccinations to both parents and health practitioners in order to reach overall vaccination rates which they deemed were necessary for ‘herd immunity,’ a concept which with regards to vaccination, and contrary to prevalent beliefs, does not rest on solid scientific evidence,” writes Dr. Tomljenovic in her paper.
“Official documents obtained from the U.K. Department of Health (DH) and the JCVI reveal that the British health authorities have been engaging in such practice for the last 30 years, apparently for the sole purpose of protecting the national vaccination program.”
The 45-page paper blows the lid off the myth that government vaccination policy is based on sound science, and instead shows that vaccine advisory committees, which help set vaccine policy, are typically padded with vaccine industry shills that specifically promote vaccines in spite of evidence showing their dangers. This has been true in the U.K. since at least the early 1980s, and it is certainly true in the U.S. as well.
Dr. Tomlijenovic explains; for instance, how JCVI has known since as early as 1981 that the measles vaccine, which is part of the government’s official vaccine schedule, is linked to long-term neurological damage and death. She also outlines, with full citations, evidence showing that JCVI has long been aware that many of scheduled vaccines cause permanent brain damage in children, but have continued to promote those vaccines anyway.
JCVI knew MMR vaccine was capable of causing brain damage
Another stunning discovery in Dr. Tomlijenovic’s paper deals with the MMR vaccine, and how JCVI was aware that this controversial jab can cause brain damage. The transcript from a 1990 meeting of the JCVI CSM/DH Joint Sub-Committee on Adverse Reactions notes that JCVI was aware that MMR was definitely linked to causing at least 10 known cases of both meningitis and encephalitis.
JCVI addressed the issue of MMR safety again in 1991, noting that in a follow-up review of the earlier cases of meningitis and encephalitis that were definitively linked to the vaccine, two of the children developed permanent neurological damage as a result. One other developed behavioral problems, which are linked to autism, and another developed cerebral astrocytoma, a type of brain tumor. None of this critical information was publicly disclosed.
