Mandate by Congress Forces Post Office Into Default

On Friday, August 3, 2012, the United States Postal Service experienced its first-ever default on a Congressionally-mandated payment of $5.5 billion for the retirement benefits of future employees.

Although USPS is claiming that, for now, the default will have “no material effect” on the operation of the Post Office and that the agency will continue to deliver mail and pay employees, the fact is that this financial quandary has raised new questions regarding just how long the agency will be able to operate.

After all, the USPS is expected to default on the second half of this payment – another $5.6 billion – in September.

Congress is now debating what to do about the default and the question of how or if the USPS will continue to function in the future. FOX News reports that;

While the Senate passed a bill in April that provides an $11 billion cash infusion to help the mail agency avert a default, it would also delay many of the planned postal cuts for another year or two. The House remains stalled over a measure that allows for the aggressive cuts the Postal Service prefers, in large part due to concerns among rural lawmakers over cutbacks in their communities.

The Postal Service originally sought to close low-revenue post offices in rural areas to save money, but after public opposition it agreed to keep 13,000 open with shorter operating hours. The Postal Service also is delaying the closing of many mail processing centers, originally set to begin this spring. The estimated annual savings of $2.1 billion won’t be realized until the full cuts are completed in late 2014.

The Martial Flu: U.S. Pandemic Laws Align with International Health Regulations

via: ActivistPost
by: Justin Gross
Monday, August 6, 2012

All of the new vaccines are DNA vaccines which contaminate normal human DNA with patented GMOs, just as Monsanto has been doing to organic fields with pollen drift.

The public has not been informed of this or given legal papers to release their intellectual property rights over their own unique DNA.

But under GW Bush, whose family is deeply connected to the biotech/pharmaceutical industry that put Hitler into office, laws were put in place that would use the military to force such vaccines, and with unknown content, on the entire population, under the pretext of a flu.

The following went into effect under George Bush:

WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION checklist for influenza pandemic preparedness planning: Section 1.5.1 Legal and ethical issues -

‘During a pandemic, it may be necessary to overrule existing legislation or (individual) human rights. Examples are the enforcement of quarantine (overruling individual freedom of movement), use of privately owned buildings for hospitals, off-license use of drugs, compulsory vaccination or implementation of emergency shifts in essential services. These decisions need a legal framework to ensure transparent assessment and justification of the measures that are being considered, and to ensure coherence with international legislation (International Health Regulations). [Source]

Bush provided the pandemics laws that intersect with the WHO’s health regulations. Obama recently signed an executive order putting the US into alignment with international laws. The WHO has been the driver of covert sterilizing campaigns with vaccines around the world, and just threatened Pakistan for attempting to suspend Gates, WHO, and World Bank polio vaccines until the Pakistani government was sure the vaccines were safe and effective. The vaccines are causing mass paralysis there.

George Bush pushed through the pandemic laws in the US using the false fear that there would again be a pandemic like the 1918 flu pandemic. There was no flu pandemic in 1918. Millions died but they died because of the pharmaceutical industry’s “miracle drug,” aspirin, a highly toxic drug that can kill quickly when used in overdose, as well as a potent immunosuppressive which allowed common upper respiratory infections to deteriorate into deadly pneumonias. The millions of 1918-19 deaths are the result of pharmaceutical industry greed, and the collusion of government, medical authorities, military and corporations.

These same groups have gone many steps further under the Bush pandemic laws.

  • They have mandated a highly toxic, immunosuppressive “treatment” in advance, to every person in the country.
  • They have brought together government, military, medical “authorities,” and corporations in a financial arrangement.
  • All liability has been removed.
  • The vaccines themselves do not have to be tested (and thus not even known) in an emergency.
  • Any emergency does not have to be proved.

The Austerity Hoax

via: ActivistPost
by: Stephen Lendman
August 3, 2012

Since 2008, Western nations have force-fed their people austerity poison. Decline replaces prosperity. Millions suffer. Living standards deteriorate. Societies become no longer fit to live in.

Neoliberal and imperial priorities let essential public needs go begging. How much more people will take before erupting remains to be seen.

The longer fiscal pain continues, the closer an ultimate day of reckoning approaches. It’ll arrive disruptively. Perhaps people will recognize that throwing out bums for new ones accomplishes nothing.

America is Exhibit A. Political Washington is corrupt, immoral, degenerate, and unprincipled. Instead of helping people, they destroy them. They benefit from imposing misery.

Allied with criminal bankers an other corporate predators, their policies made conditions for growing millions intolerable.

Imperial wars destroy nations. Austerity leaves “nothing to drive the economy,” says Paul Craig Roberts. Washington’s solution is increase it. Doing it is economically destructive. Only bankers, other corporate favorites, and war profiteers benefit.

Michael Hudson says austerity sacrifices the “production economy, the consumption economy, (and) the real economy….” Viable alternatives are ignored to benefit privileged elites at the expense of most others.

The Neoconservative War Criminals In Our Midst

via: ActivistPost
by: Paul Craig Roberts
August 1, 2012

The State Department has an office that hunts German war criminals. Bureaucracies being what they are, the office will exist into next century when any surviving German prison guards will be 200 years old.

From time to time the State Department claims to have found a lowly German soldier who was assigned as a prison camp guard. The ancient personage, who had lived in the US for the past 50 or 60 years without doing harm to anyone, is then merciless persecuted, usually on the basis of hearsay.
I have never understood what the State Department thinks the alleged prison guard was supposed to have done–freed the prisoners, resign his position?–when Prussian aristocrats, high-ranking German Army generals and Field Marshall and national hero Erwin Rommel were murdered for trying to overthrow Hitler.

What the State Department needs is an office that rounds up American war criminals.

They are in abundance and not hard to find. Indeed, recently 56 of them made themselves public by signing a letter to President Obama demanding that he send in the US Army to complete the destruction of Syria and its people that Washington has begun.

At the Nuremberg Trials of the defeated Germans after World War II, the US government established the principle that naked aggression–the American way in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Pakistan, and Yemen–is a war crime. Therefore, there is a very strong precedent for the State Department to round up those neoconservatives who are fomenting more war crimes.

California: Psych Board Blasted by Judge

via: ActivistPost
by: Jane Phelan
Wednesday, August 1, 2012

In a startling reversal of fortune, a Sacramento Superior Court judge ruled last Friday to stay the revocation of activist psychologist Dr. Robert Fettgather’s license to practice psychology.

Dr. Fettgather’s license had been ordered revoked in May after he refused to submit to a psychiatric examination ordered by the California State Psychology Board. The revocation was set to come into force on July 27. The stay grants Dr. Fettgather permission to work as a licensed psychologist until the writ can be heard requesting the Board’s decision be entirely overturned.

Blasting the Psychology Board for launching an action against Fettgather without justification, Sacramento Superior Court Judge Timothy Frawley declared that the Board lacked good cause to compel him into a psychiatric evaluation. Judge Frawley also raised concerns that the Administrative Law court further denied Fettgather’s right to due process in refusing to hear any evidence from Fettgather. According to Fettgather’s attorney, Dr. Bruce Ebert, Frawley also raised questions as to the cavalier manner in which the Psychology Board had attempted to force Fettgather into a psychiatric exam.

In an interview July 30, Ebert stated, “If there was any part of government that should understand the seriousness of ordering someone to undergo a forced psychiatric exam it should be the Board which regulates the practice of psychology.” Ebert went on to say, “We all need to be concerned when psychiatry is used as a weapon rather than as a tool for mental health.”

Fettgather had run into difficulties last year when his advocacy for his disabled son, David, who is under a conservatorship and held in custodial care, raised the ire of a State Assemblyman. Doctor Fettgather had spoken at a Town Hall meeting and criticized Assemblyman Jim Beall for failure to follow through on the plight of David. Assemblyman Beall then made a report to the Dignitaries Protection Unit of the California Highway Patrol, alleging that Fettgather had threatened him. The report was investigated and considered to be of no merit, according to the CHP. However, shortly thereafter the State Psychology Board contacted Dr. Fettgather and stated that they were investigating him.

China and the Outsourcing of the American Republic

via: ActivistPost
by: Brandon Turbeville
Tuesday, July 31, 2012

In a rare instance of real journalism, ABC news aired a report on the increasing number of foreign workers being contracted and imported into the United States for the purpose of rebuilding U.S. infrastructure.

It is part of a trend in globalization that sees an increasing Chinese presence in the United States, including everything from banking to outright purchase of U.S. cities to planting Chinese flags on U.S. soil to GM effectively becoming China Motors to buying up U.S. oil and gas deposits.

Indeed, ABC journalist Chris Cuomo of the Bringing America Back division of ABC News has reported that, out of the various different infrastructure repair projects being undertaken in the United States, a sizeable portion of those projects have been outsourced to foreign companies, particularly Chinese firms, who have then imported their own workers for the projects. For instance, Cuomo cites a $400 million renovation of the Alexander Hamilton bridge in New York, a $7.2 billion California project to build a new bridge in order to connect San Francisco and Oakland, and a proposed $190 million bridge project in Alaska as examples of foreign firms and labor being imported in place of what should have been American workers.

Understandably, union workers in Alaska began airing angry television commercials protesting the granting of Alaska’s bridge project to Chinese Corporations. “This is not the time to send more jobs to China,” the ads said. “Our tax dollars will provide hundreds of jobs there. Not at home.”

Indeed, in many cases, U.S. firms state that they are able to and would have met the guidelines set forth by the state governments in regards to their infrastructure projects. However, the contracts still went to their Chinese counterparts.

Huffington Post Urges America Pay a Carbon Tax to Fight Climate Change

via: ActivistPost
by: Andrew Puhanic
July 30, 2012

The main stream media and the Globalists in the United States have finally begun to show their true colours. In an article written by Carl Pope published in the Huffington Post titled ‘Why It’s Time to Tax Carbon Pollution’, it has been argued that the United States should follow the lead set by Australia and introduce a carbon tax as part of tax reform and the climate change movement.

The author, Carl Pope, claims that ‘carbon taxes fit conservative tax theory’ and that it would be an ‘important symbol’ for believers of climate change and global warming. He then goes on to claim that a carbon tax would ‘put in place one important piece of an eventual, global, harmonized carbon fee’ (setting the stage for world government).

Many of the claims made by Pope are misleading and outright dishonest…

Pope claims that carbon taxes ‘would generate revenues, and if climate advocates can bring power to the negotiating table, those revenues in part might be devoted to other aspects of energy innovation, like paying for renewable power incentives’.

Of course the tax would generate revenues, but at what cost? As with the current carbon tax experiment in Australia, a carbon tax is nothing but a transfer payment from low-income earners to the pockets of the elite. Having the government force investors to invest in renewable energy will only lead to failure.

He then goes onto claim that:

The threat of climate disruption is real, (that) carbon is harmful and not beneficial, and that something will need to be done.

Rainwater Crimes: Man Gets Jail & Fines For Collecting On His Own Land

via: ActivistPost
Monday, July 30, 2012

Water, water, everywhere – Nor any drop to drink.*

A case of the government seeking money and bondage from rural residents by purposely misconstruing an old law & bending definitions.

Gary Harrington had no idea that he was a water criminal under an obscure 1925 law until 2002 when state bureaucrats told him that his three reservoirs were illegal collection devices that were a crime against his community.

At first, Harrington complied and legally filed for three permits to keep the rainwater run-off within his 170-acre property, including one that had been on the property for 37 years. However, it appears that the Oregon government is adamantly against its citizens storing and using their own source of water. Although his permits were approved in 2003, the state court arbitrarily reversed their decision and was subsequently backed up by a county Circuit Court judge who ruled that he had illegally “withdrawn the water at issue from appropriation other than for the City of Medford.” (Source)

Even if the city of Medford did legitimately own all the water, Harrington has good standing when he points out that the law mentions only streams and tributaries, not water run-off formulated from the clouds.

A Crash Course on the Internet Piracy Debate: Infographic

via: ActivistPost
Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Lawmakers continue to push for strict Internet control legislation at the behest of establishment mega-media. Congressmen such as Lamar Smith have even gone as far as to propose government IP Czars to supplant the wave of private copyright trolls filing frivolous lawsuits.

Despite the government’s history of failed attempts to control the Internet, the legal battle for control over the Internet rages on.

The infographic below does an exemplary job at pointing out the major economic fallacies and realities surrounding Hollywood’s piracy fear mongering. Just one example of this shows that the Recording Industry Association of America has sued a staggering 12,000+ people for an average of $150,000 per song – and music sales have still increased for the first time since 2004.

The future of information sharing is on the line, and it is important that the facts are made clear. While the livelihood of artists should be a central issue, there is much to suggest that artists have more tools than ever to express themselves in more creative ways, and to earn a living in novel ways that are still yet being conceived.  Is it worth throwing away the entire free-flow of information that the Internet has come to represent strictly to bring pirates under control? We welcome your thoughts in the comment section under the infographic posted below.
