The corn, soy, and beets are on fire… let the GMOs burn!

[NaturalNews] It is EPIC IRONY that certain genetically modified vegetables, namely corn, soy and beets, are burning up in the summer heat and drought that is devastating the entire Midwestern United States. There is a certain serendipitous irony, like bad karma coming home to roost for the greedy corporations that continually put profits ahead of human health and wellness. There’s always a price to be paid for unethical business practices, and just about every vegetarian and vegan knows the truth about the detriments to your health from eating vegetables that come from seedlings which are bred with pesticide in a laboratory.

Right now, as you read this, massive amounts of dried up and cracking dirt is strangulating nearly 40 percent of the genetically modified CORN, SOY, and BEET roots, and in some hauntingly similar way, those toxic vegetables have been slowly strangulating the masses who have been consuming them for the past 15 to 20 years.

GMO equals short term profits and shorter human life

Pesticide is now growing inside of the most popular vegetation, thanks to the last two decades of “Ag-science,” (agricultural science) figuring out how to engineer toxic pest killers as part of the plants’ genetic makeup. Now, thanks to plant immunity to RoundUp pesticide, at least five to ten times more pesticide is dumped onto the vegetation as it grows in America’s fields. This means fewer worms, fewer insects, and fewer turtles and rabbits eating away at the plants, which means higher profits for “sell out” farmers and the contributing corporations. Or does it? Human beings can’t eat pesticide or we get cancer, and so as we do “EAT CANCER,” huge pharmaceutical firms prosper, and it just further assists them in running the country, the politicians, Western Medicine and the mainstream media. (http://programs.webseed.com/Dont_Eat_Cancer__TV.htm)

The greatest monopoly to ever besiege mankind is the merger of the U.S. food industry with the U.S. pharmaceutical industry. (http://www.naturalnews.com/030394_GMO_plant_pharmas.html) Perpetuated myths invade the masses via media tricks and ad campaigns, and most people have no idea they are eating pesticide for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day. The cleansing and detoxifying organs, like the kidneys, pancreas and liver are being overwhelmed with GMO toxins and food additives.

Soy myth!

It’s becoming very difficult to find any soy which is truly organic. Most soy in America is genetically modified, processed, and causes extreme health detriment. Do you drink soy milk because you’re trying to avoid dairy? Switch to almond milk or rice milk right away. Why? Soybeans contain HAEMGGLUTININ, which is a clot promoting substance that causes red blood cells to clump together. This is what leads to strokes. Also, soy beans contain natural toxins or “anti-nutrients” and are considered enzyme inhibitors, because they block the action of trypsin and other enzymes that humans need for protein digestion. These can produce serious gastric distress and cause chronic deficiencies in amino acid uptake. In test animals, they cause enlargement of pathological conditions of the pancreas, including cancer.

Soy consumption also increases estrogen. Research shows that hamsters fed with GM soy were unable to have offspring and suffered a high mortality rate. Also, steer clear of soy protein isolate, found in most protein shakes and protein bars. Hexane, a petroleum solvent similar to gasoline, is used in the processing phases of soy, and remnants are found in all non-organic soy based food. Oh, but you will never find hexane on the label.

Corn plague!

Genetically modified corn does NOT feed the entire world, it poisons the entire world. Frankencorn is laden with pesticides inside and out, and America breeds it and feeds countries and most livestock this toxic, insidious food product, as if it’s just normal daily business. This drought is more like some ancient Egyptian plague for these huge biotech corporations like Monsanto and Dow. This drought is like something out of the Ten Commandments.

Monsanto’s Bt-sweet “Frankencorn,” the agri-giant’s first ever GM corn product, is made available as whole ears right on the cob, so it’s not just the processed corn products to watch out for anymore. (http://www.naturalnews.com)

“What will farmers use to feed livestock if there’s no corn?!” The behind-the-scenes-truth is that corn and grain based animal feed cause digestive infections and disorders in the animals. Those “corporate” infections (and the antibiotics given to treat them) are passed on to carnivores all over the world.

“Agent Orange” corn on the rise like a Grim ReaperEnlist, known by its critics as “Agent Orange” corn, is created by Dow AgroScience and is engineered to be immune to 2,4-D, an ingredient used in Vietnam that lead to thousands of soldiers coming back from the war with cancer. Farmers can douse their crop with this lethal pesticide and boost profits, all while fueling the $100 billion cancer industry. Studies show that 2,4-D exposure is associated with various forms of cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, nerve damage, hormone disruption and birth defects.

Monsanto GM beets for MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE; who knew?

Anyone wondering why the biotech giant Monsanto would patent beets and prosecute organic farmers for keeping their seeds? You may be thinking that there can’t be massive consumption of beets, like there is of corn and soy, but think again. That concentrated salt (MSG) that gives you migraine headaches, causes your children to vomit, and gives infants brain damage, is mass produced and mass distributed in nearly every salty, non-organic product known to mankind. You’ll even find it in products that claim to be “all natural.” (http://www.naturalnews.com/024417_sugar_Roundup_beets.html)

Plus, the sugar beet pulp is a processed by-product widely used as feed supplements for livestock. Farmers across the country are planting Monsanto’s Roundup Ready sugar beet, genetically engineered for resistance to Monsanto’s herbicide glyphosate (marketed as Roundup). Up to 95 percent of the sugar beet crop in Idaho alone is GM, totaling 150,000 out of 167,000 acres. Half of the granulated sugar in the U.S. comes from pesticide laden sugar beets, creating UNPRECEDENTED health and environmental risks.

When did all the MSG mayhem kick into full gear? Back in 2005, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) changed the classification of Roundup Ready sugar beets from regulated to “deregulated.” Basically, the USDA and the FDA failed to conduct research into the impacts of humans eating Roundup pesticide.

The great 2012 drought – A blessing in disguise

Unfortunately, there are many innocent organic farmers suffering from the drought too. However, we don’t need GM corn, soy and beets, so let those prices rise. If corn and soy prices went up 100 percent instead of what the media is warning about (four percent), it would be a blessing. Maybe then the masses who think GM means the “evolution of farming” would stop buying cancer causing food and start buying organic food that heals the body and PREVENTS DISEASE. It’s your choice every day, every meal. Every penny you spend can feed pollution and disease, or promote nutrition.

Historic Drought, Giant Dust Storms And Massive Power Grid Failures – A Glimpse Into Our Future

via: ActivistPost
by: Michael Snyder
Wednesday, August 1, 2012

This week has provided two very clear examples of why it is so important to keep on prepping. In the United States, the historic drought ravaging the central part of the country is absolutely devastating our crops.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, drought is affecting nearly 90 percent of all corn crops in America at this point.

This is pushing the price of corn to levels never seen before. On Tuesday, the price of corn hit another new record high of $8.20 a bushel on the Chicago Board of Trade. Over the past six weeks the price of corn has risen more than 50 percent, and it could go a lot higher as the drought continues to absolutely bake America.

Meanwhile, the massive power grid failures in India are reminding us all just how incredibly dependent we are on electricity and technology. Power was cut off to nearly a tenth of the entire global population on Tuesday, and there was quite a bit of panic about that even though power is rapidly being restored.

So what would happen to them (or to us) someday if the power went off for good?

As much as humanity would like to think that our technology has conquered nature, that simply is not the case.

Without the rain that falls from the sky, there would be mass starvation on this planet. We are not immune to drought, and there are a lot of indications that the drought we are experiencing right now is just the beginning of a longer trend.

Did you know that ‘natural’ foods can still contain GMOs? The main difference between ‘organic’ and ‘natural’

via: NaturalNews
Thursday, July 26, 2012
By: Ben

[NaturalNews] Have you ever wondered what “natural” and “organic” mean on labels? If so, you’re not alone. Food labels today are filled with a number of ingredients that are barely pronounceable, let alone common enough to know what they actually are. The good news is that with more and more people looking for healthier options to choose from at supermarkets, there are a lot more options today than there were. However, with the variety of products on shelves, it makes it difficult to know what the best choices truly are.

When it comes to “natural” and “organic,” there is a main difference you need to be aware of. One is strictly regulated and the other label can mean, well just about anything.

An organic label means that the product is strictly regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This is good news for all you “organic” shoppers, it means that organic products are regulated from start to finish, assuring that it doesn’t contain certain ingredients found in non-organic foods and products. The USDA says that organic food has to be grown without toxic, synthetic pesticides and herbicides, GMOs, and antibiotics or artificial growth hormones. It also helps that organic farms do not add chemicals to the air, water, and soil. There have been studies that show organic farming also helps produce more nutrient-dense crops.

As far as “natural,” it is a bit more open ended. In fact, it is all the way open ended. The “natural” labels are not strictly defined or regulated. It could mean that the food doesn’t contain preservatives, or that it is minimally processed, and it could mean none of those things. It is important to know that “natural” foods could even contain toxic chemicals and GMOs as they are not regulated like “organic” foods. Hence, it becomes that much more important to know how to read labels and understand what is being put in the products you purchase.

Natural and organic have two different definitions, and it is important to know the difference. Many companies are finding that just by adding “natural” to a label makes it more appealing to the consumer; however, it may not be more beneficial to your health. The bottom line is that organic food is the best choice for your health with its heavily regulated requirements and guidelines.

Genetically Modified Apples Newest GMO Creation to be Pushed on Consumers

via: NaturalSociety
by: Anthony Gucciardi
July 25, 2012

After setting sights on creating a heavily modified apple that ‘never browns’ and doing their very best to hide the fact that they are indeed genetically altered, a biotech corporation known as Okanagan Specialty Fruits is now pushing for their new genetically modified apples to hit the market. The company recently submitted an application to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to launch their initiative to get the apples into your local grocery market and reap ‘improved industry sales’, but they made sure that the data was not available to the public.

Now, after providing virtually no information to the citizens of Canada and submitting only two pages of information on the product actually written by the company, Okanagan Specialty Fruits is now set on a United States release. On July 9th, the USDA posted the corporation’s request for approval on their website for the genetically modified ‘non-browning’ apples, giving the public 60 days to comment before ultimately making a decision.

The move has outraged many watchdog organizations, who have continued to highlight the fact that the initial submission to the Canadian government was ‘embarrassing’ in its utter lack of real information. Speaking on behalf of the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network, activist and biotech researcher Lucy Sharratt stated:

“The CFIA should be deeply embarrassed for wasting Canadian’s time on a false invitation to comment on the GM apple… the CFIA public comment period was always a sham because it was based on no data but this farce is now completely exposed.”

Genetically Modified Apples Opposed by 69% of Canadians

Unsurprisingly, Sharatt’s sentiments have been echoed by many Canadian citizens and activists. The crusade to bring genetically modified apples has been met with extreme activism from concerned citizens as documented by a number of new polls and surveys. Giving a powerful statistical concept of how citizens see the proposition of the modified apples, a consumer poll commissioned by apple grower associations based in British Columbia and Quebec revealed that 69% of Canadians simply do not want the genetically modified apple.

USDA Prepares to Green-Light Gnarliest GMO Soy Yet

via: MotherJones
by: Tom Philpott
July 18, 2012

In early July, on the sleepy Friday after Independence Day, the USDA quietly signaledits intention to green-light a new genetically engineered soybean seed from Dow AgroSciences. The product is designed to produce soy plants that withstand 2,4-D, a highly toxic herbicide (and, famously, the less toxic component in the notorious Vietnam War-era defoliant Agent Orange).

Readers may remember that during an even-sleepier period—the week between Christmas and the New Year—the USDA made a similar move on Dow’s 2,4-D-ready corn.

If the USDA deregulates the two products—as it has telegraphed its intention to do—Dow will enjoy a massive profit opportunity. Every year, about half of all US farmland is planted in corn and soy. Currently, Dow’s rival Monsanto has a tight grip on weed management in corn-and-soy country. Upward of 90 percent of soy and 70 percent of corn is engineered to withstand another herbicide called glyphosate through highly profitable Monsanto’s Roundup Ready seed lines. And after so many years of lashing so much land with the same herbicide, glyphosate-resistant superweeds are now vexing farmers and “alarming” weed control experts throughout the Midwest.

Toxic BPA Substitute – BPS Chemical More Dangerous than BPA

via: NaturalSociety
by: Lisa Garber
July 18, 2012

Earlier this year, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration declared bisphenol A relatively safe (cough, cough). But due to the growing awareness that BPA is actually highly toxic, even the FDA’s ‘safe’ statement hasn’t stopped many plastics and papers manufacturers from replacing the estrogen-mimicking compound with its close cousin, bisphenol S.  And the revenue has been worth the change, even if BPS isn’t any safer than BPA. In fact, you may be more exposed to the BPS chemical now than you were to BPA before.

Why BPA is Unsafe

Despite the FDA’s announcement, research continues to raise red flags over BPA. Endocrinology, a publication of The Endocrine Society, featured a study in which mice received low doses of BPA and thereafter experienced effects on the brain and social behaviors.

Because BPA is environmentally persistent, its effects are long-lasting and trans-generational as well. In the aforementioned study, prenatal exposure to mice correlated with raised levels of anxiety, aggression, and cognitive difficulties.

Maybe mice are mice and people are people, but our exposure to BPA is nothing to be overlooked.  We eat food from cans with BPA. We store leftovers in containers with BPA. We drink water from BPA-laden bottles. We handle thermal paper and thereby BPA at the workplace. We essentially live, breathe, and eat BPA.

And now we have to worry about the BPS chemical instead?

Increased BPS Chemical Exposure

Not much is yet known about BPS—the compound replacing BPA in products like thermal paper—but the outlook is gloomy.

In 2005, Japanese scientists compared the hormone-mimicking effects of BPA and 19 similar compounds (including BPS chemical) on human cells. Although they found BPS’s effects to be slightly weaker than its cousin’s, new research shows that we may be absorbing more BPS through our skin than we were absorbing BPA.

Kurunthachalam Kannan of the Wadsworth Center at the New York state Department of Health led a research team in analyzing 16 types of paper from the U.S., Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam.  All receipt paper analyzed contained BPS.

“People who handle thermal paper in their jobs may be absorbing much more BPS,” the analysts said—19 times more, according to their research.

If you’re concerned about your BPS exposure, keep in mind that BPA-free (and BPS-laden) receipts have those telltale red fibers in the paper.  To reduce your exposure:

  • Wash your hands after touching thermal paper.
  • Save paper—and yourself—and tell the cashier to not print the receipt.
  • Avoid putting receipts in bags with food.
  • Store necessary receipts in folders or drawers to avoid unnecessary contact.
  • If you are the cashier, consider investing in gloves.

Health Ranger’s intelligence analysis of military drones: payloads, countermeasures and more

via: NaturalNews
Monday, July 16, 2012
by Mike Adams

[NaturalNews] Today across America, we’re witnessing an explosion in the planned deployment of spy drones, military drones and surveillance drones, both for law enforcement use and military use. The FAA has granted permission for tens of thousands of drones to be flown in the skies of America, and companies like Raytheon are working on tiny munitions (missiles) that can be carried by single-shot drones. What follows is my personal analysis of near-future drone capabilities and countermeasures, extrapolated from information found in public articles as well as my personal knowledge of military and law enforcement tactics and mission profiles.

Drones are now being weaponized in America. As reported in AINonline (http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/2012-07-08/raytheons-purpose-b…)

Raytheon’s new small tactical munition (STM), which the U.S. group claims is the first purpose-built weapon for tactical unmanned air systems (UAS), could be in active service within a few months. The STM is 22 inches long, 3.6 inches in diameter and weighs 13.5 pounds, and could be used on a UAS with a payload as low as 50 to 60 pounds.

This development, combined with the incredible expansion of the surveillance police state which already monitors all phone calls, emails, social networking activities and website searches, means that the “Rise of the Machines” will likely take place with small flying robots rather than the bipedal machines depicted in “Terminator.”

If you want to see how far these drones have come in just the last few years, check out this astonishing video entitled “Aerobot’s new design – The Ring – Dodecacopter”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POorwqxmJ-4

And take a look at this video of the Stalker drone built by Lockheed Martin:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07M7v_KeYUo

Eliminate the humans from the front lines

It has long been the desire of the military to eliminate all humans from the front lines of battle. If machines could do the job of humans, you not only wouldn’t have body bags (secretly and quietly) sent back home; you’d also have nobody to question the ethics of, say, opening fire on civilian protesters.

The only thing holding back the military from total global domination right now is that those “damn humans” are in the way, refusing to follow orders that would be too genocidal. Remove the humans from the equation with an army of manufactured robots and you have the perfect storm for a mechanized, robotics-augmented global war machine.

And what power-hungry bureaucrat wouldn’t want ten million obedient, weaponized flying robots at his command? It’s a dream come true for all who seek power — which is virtually everyone in Washington D.C. and the Pentagon.
